Ganesha

Ganesha

Going back hundreds of years, “Ganesha” emerged as a deity of immense capability, revered as the foremost deity in Brahmanism-Hinduism. Ganesha is endowed with wisdom and intelligence, able to solve any problem and rise above all conflicts. Known for his eloquence, he is the patron of arts, sciences, and all fields of knowledge. Even high-ranking deities acknowledge his brilliance in thought and speech, making him a revered teacher with many followers.
According to legend, as time passed, one day while Shiva was returning to Mount Kailash, unaware of the circumstances, Ganesha engaged in combat to prevent his entry. In the ensuing battle, Shiva, in an unconscious state, used his trident to sever Ganesha’s head, not realizing that Ganesha was his own son. Ganesha succumbed to his injuries and died. Once Shiva regained his senses, he sought a way to bring Ganesha back to life. Although he could restore life, the original head was missing, so he replaced it with an elephant’s head. This is why Ganesha appears as we know him today: an elephant’s head on a human body.
After reviving him, Shiva blessed his son with “sharp intellect, respected by demons, gods, and humans alike.” As time passed, devotion to Ganesha grew, leading to widespread reverence and the continuous chanting of Ganesha worship mantras to this day.
